We are very grateful for Colin Cheney who is stepping in at the last moment to give us a talk about 'St Brelade quarries and quarrymen'.
Colin is our Treasurer but Colin is also chairman of the Geology section of Société Jersaise.
He will discuss the reasons for undertaking the research into quarries and quarrymen and sources of information will be discussed in particular the census records. A brief history of the larger commercial quarries in the parish together with information about the quarry workers and their origins.
